Remember the Russian people had not been afforded the opportunity to see or hear Horowitz in person during his 60 year absence. Look for the entire concert on DVD, its tremendous. This was also an encore piece at the end of his return concert to Moscow. For some entertaining reading on Horowitz and other 'greats' try the book by his piano tuner/technician: "My Life with the Great Pianists" by Franz Mohr. ENJOY!
